24 Eggs Daily: Harvard Scientist's Cholesterol
usted myths! Why eggs might not be the cholesterol bomb we think they are

Eating Too Many Eggs? Who Exactly Says That?
Have you ever been worried when your omelet was a little larger than usual or you went for a second round of egg-pecking at Easter? For a long time, eggs were considered a true cholesterol bomb that should only be enjoyed in moderation. But is that really the case? A Harvard scientist named Nick Norwitz put this to the test – with an extreme experiment whose results are anything but expected!
720 Eggs in 30 Days: The Extreme Experiment
Nick Norwitz, who specializes in metabolism and the ketogenic diet, wanted to find out. And he went all in! For his unusual self-experiment, he reportedly ate 24 eggs daily for an entire month. Just imagine that! That's 720 eggs in just 30 days – an incredible amount. With this gigantic cholesterol intake of over 133,000 milligrams, shouldn't your body's warning light be flashing red?
What Really Happened to His Cholesterol
Here's the kick: Contrary to all fears, Norwitz states that his cholesterol level remained unchanged! And it gets even better: His LDL cholesterol, often called the "bad" cholesterol, even dropped by a full 20% within four weeks. What does this teach us? The common assumption that dietary cholesterol directly increases our blood levels seems to be outdated.
Cholesterol: More Than Just “Good” or “Bad”
The reason for this is more complex than we often think. Cholesterol is vital for our bodies – a building block for cell membranes and central to many metabolic processes. It's not just about LDL (the villain) and HDL (the hero); the interplay is crucial. Modern research supports Norwitz's findings: Experts increasingly agree that our diet has only a minor influence on cholesterol levels. Genetic factors and the function of LDL receptors in the liver play a much larger role.
So, the next time you buy eggs, you can breathe a sigh of relief. They are not automatically the enemy of your health. As always, however, variety is the key to a balanced diet!
