Berlin bar Green Door is “Bar of the Year” once again

Mixology, magazine and platform for bar culture, hosts awards for bars and the drinking culture each year. This year, a bar named Green Door in Berlin, has been named “Bar of the Year” once again in the Mixology Awards 2026 for the DACH region. 

The awards show is considered to be one of the most important ones in the bar world, and Green Door took home two prizes: “Bar of the Year” & “Bar Team of the Year”. 

Green Door in Berlin has been iconic for a while

Green Door Bar first opened the door in 1995, and has taken the old American bar style as an interior for itself. Interior pieces inside the bar are actually imported from New York for the absolute authentic vibe. 

This is also not the first time Green Door has had an impactful year. In the 2025 awards, the bar took the award for the “Best Bartender” in Germany, the bartender being Maria Gorbatschova, the first woman to ever have the award. 

Green Door is located in Schöneberg, and has the self proclaimed vibe of a “David Lynch movie and a private salon”. Prices for drinks vary from one drink to another, but it’s safe to say there’s a drink for anyone at the famous bar.
