Pomegranate spritz: The drink taking over autumn
The autumn answer to the summer classic Aperol
Sparkling into fall
Summer is winding down, but refreshing drinks don’t have to disappear. Instead, a new favorite is making its way into bars and onto terraces - the Pomegranate Spritz.
Bright pink, pleasantly tart, and deliciously fruity - this aperitif breathes fresh life into the world of spritzes and proves that even autumn offers light, sparkling drinks worth savoring.
What makes the Pomegranate Spritz so special?
While Aperol Spritz and Aperol Sour are clear summer classics, the Pomegranate Spritz fits perfectly into fall. Ruby-red pomegranate seeds are now in season. Combined with dry Prosecco and a splash of grenadine syrup, it creates a visually stunning and flavorful aperitif that’s as beautiful as it is tasty.
Here’s how to make it:
► 300 ml dry Prosecco or sparkling wine
► 50 ml pomegranate juice
► 2 tablespoons grenadine syrup
► Mineral water to taste
► Ice cubes
► Pomegranate seeds for garnish
► 1-2 rosemary sprigs for garnish
Add all ingredients over ice into a large glass, stir gently, and garnish with pomegranate seeds and rosemary. The grenadine syrup sinks to the bottom, creating a gorgeous gradient - a real eye-catcher.
Autumnal, versatile, and alcohol-free too
The Pomegranate Spritz is highly adaptable: for a less sweet version, swap the juice for fruit tea; for more bitterness, use tonic water instead of mineral water. And it works just as well alcohol-free with a sparkling wine alternative, making it a colorful treat for everyone.
